| In case you weren't paying attention while you were here, or just plain forgot: - remove bandage the next morning - wash thoroughly with soap and water (fragrance-free soap) - do not re-bandage your tattoo -apply a SMALL amount of ointment (the bacitracin we gave you) to the tattoo and rub in as you would hand lotion on your hands. Use the ointment for 1-2 days, every 3-4 hours. DO NOT APPLY A HEAVY COAT OF OINTMENT - the skin must be able to breathe in order to heal. After 1-2 days switch to a FRAGRANCE FREE hand lotion and use that the same way for a week and A HALF. (10 days) - do not expose your tattoo to direct sun - do not soak tattoo under water (WASH, but don't SOAK- no pools, hot tubs, etc) Your tattoo will feel like a sun-burn. It will flake and peel. Do not rub, pick, or scratch at your tattoo. REMEMBER: THE LIFE OF YOUR TATTOO IS DEPENDENT ON THE CARE IT RECEIVES IN THE FIRST FEW WEEKS. |
